Economic Inequality: Friend or Foe?
Course Overview
Economic inequality has been at the center of recent media and academic debates. Central to these debates is the emerging picture of increasing economic inequality within and across countries during the last several decades despite economic growth and a general increase in living standards. The focus of this course will be on both the story of how inequality comes to be and how we can reconcile improving living standards in general with rising inequality. Towards the end of the course we will explore policies related to reducing economic inequality.
