Clinical Trials: Think Like a Medical Researcher
Course Overview
This course is designed to give students a foundational knowledge of clinical trials through their components, design, and execution. Throughout this course we will review key topics including the elements the strong clinical research proposal, ethical considerations needed while designing and conducting a clinical study, as well as how to interpret clinical data from both popular media outlets and government and private institutional constructs.
Course Objectives
This course aims to increase student interest in clinical research careers and their capacity to critically evaluate clinical studies. The format of this course will favor open discussion, active learning, and student-led activities as they have been shown to produce favorable outcomes when compared to traditional lecturing.
