Culture, Arts and Social Movements
Course Overview
Throughout this course, students will actively engage with the critical role that arts and culture have played in past and current social movements. We will explore the Civil Rights Movement, the movement to end poverty, and modern struggles surrounding racial justice, using a diverse range of books, videos, artwork, and articles. In a final presentation, students will connect past movements and their cultural contributions to contemporary struggles, fostering a dynamic learning environment.
