Arrival and Departure
Arriving and Departing from Campus
All noncredit Pre-College students, both commuters and residential, must attend Arrival and Orientation on the Sunday before their session begins (Session A & IDI students- June 18; Session B students- July 2; Session C students- July 16). Check-in begins at 11 am, so please plan accordingly.
Residential students should plan to arrive at Dobbs Hall between 11 am and 3 pm on Arrival day.
Commuter students should check-in at Dobbs Hall between 3:00 pm and 3:30 pm on Arrival day and should plan to attend Orientation. Commuter students are also invited to attend the Sunday evening dinner and welcome activities as well as all other extra-curricular activities and outings during the program. They will receive a list of these activities and have an opportunity to sign up for them during Orientation.
There will be a closing ceremony and activities on the last full afternoon and evening of all sessions. We encourage students not to plan their departure from campus until the check-out dates listed here for their program.
Airport shuttles are available for $25 one-way or $50 round trip. The shuttle is available only on Check-In and Check-Out dates listed on the website. If you are arriving or departing on other days or times, you will need to make your own arrangements to get to/from campus. Space on the shuttles is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. The shuttle will run from 10:30 am - 3:00 pm on Orientation/Check-In days. You should plan your flight to arrive by 2 pm to make the last scheduled shuttle to campus. On Check-Out days, the shuttle will depart at 7 am, 9 am and 11 am.
Reservation deadlines are: Session A: June 11th, IDI: June 30th, Session B: June 25th and Session C: July 9th. Reservations will be made through your application.

Permission to Leave Campus
As detailed in the Conduct Code, residential students are not allowed to leave campus with non-Pre-College personnel during the program unless their parent or guardian has previously spoken with Pre-College staff and completed an Off-Campus Travel Permission Form. We discourage students from leaving campus to visit friends and relatives during the program. If you have relatives or friends in the Atlanta area, we encourage you to plan a visit before or after the Pre-College Program. Your relatives or friend(s) are welcome to meet you for a meal on campus or in Emory Village. No additional paperwork is required for these on-campus visits.
If a student must leave campus with a family friend or relative, please contact Des'mon Taylor to ensure that the timing of the planned visit will work with your student's schedule and to fill out the appropriate form. This form must be submitted at least 24-48 hours before the anticipated off-campus travel. The Sunday during the middle of the program is a good time for any off-campus visits. You may reach Des’mon Taylor, des’firstname.lastname@example.org. These forms will also be available at the program Check-In.
Parking Information for Commuter Students
All commuter students who are planning to drive a vehicle and park on campus daily must purchase a parking pass. A two-week parking pass costs $25, a monthly parking pass costs $50, and a six-week pass costs $75.
The Transportation and Parking Office is located in the Starvine Parking Deck on the Clairmont Campus. The office is open from 7:30 am-4:30 pm Monday-Friday. Students should plan to visit the office to purchase their parking pass either the week before their classes start or early on the Monday morning that their classes are scheduled to begin. Please inform the parking officials that you are an Emory Pre-College student and that you would like to purchase a two-week/four-week/six-week parking pass for the Peavine parking deck.
There will be no charge to park in the Peavine Visitor's Lot on the Sundays of Orientation, but students will be charged an hourly rate to park in this lot without a parking pass on weekdays.
