How to Apply

Applicants must be fifteen years of age by the date of registration and must be rising juniors or seniors in high school*. Students should be highly motivated and committed to engaging in college-level work during the summer.

To be considered for admission to the Pre-College Program, applicants must complete and submit the following:

  1. Apply Online or download the Pre-College Program application (PDF).
  2. $50 non-refundable application fee is required. If you apply online, you must pay by credit card (VISA, MC, American Express). If you download and complete the paper application, a check made payable to Emory Pre-College Program must accompany your application. Please include applicant's name and birth date on check memo line.
  3. Download the teacher/counselor recommendation form (PDF) for a current or recent high school teacher (or guidance counselor) to complete and return to the address listed below.
  4. Request an official high school transcript to be sent to the address listed below.
  5. SAT or ACT scores should be submitted directly from the testing center if not reported on the high school transcript. Emory’s CEEB/SAT college code number is 5187; the ACT code number is 0810. If you have not taken the SAT or ACT yet, you may submit a copy of your most recent PSAT report. The PSAT is administered to students in high school. Score reports are mailed to the student's permanent home address as well as the high school. For more information about expediting this process please see our FAQs.
  6. International students may apply for two-week courses only. You must submit TOEFL scores and a writing sample. Refer to the International Student tab on the left.

Students who have already graduated from high school are not eligible for the Emory Pre-College Program.

*Emory Pre-College students must be at least 15 years of age by the date of registration (the day before classes begin) and must be rising high school juniors or seniors. Students who wish to enroll in one of the following lab science courses must be at least 16 years of age by the date of registration and must be rising high school juniors and seniors: Infectious Diseases: Causes and Cures; and Nanomaterials: From Electronics to Medicine.

Applications are evaluated on a rolling basis until classes are filled. Residential space is limited. Apply early!
